History

Computer Connection is an IT maintenance/repair company with a worldwide vision. We strive to offer the best service to each and every one of our customers no matter their financial status. It is our belief that every customer is important in their own way, and that has been the idea from the moment the company began.

Since the age of fifteen, Rick Cain has had a passion to fix computers. While in high school, he would fix his teacher’s computers for cash. Prior to opening the doors of Computer Connection, he would set up a little office space on his front porch and fix computers. But inside, he knew there was more. He did not have the access to the world at that time and knew that to achieve his vision, he would have to open a store front. With that in mind, and a wife and kid in tow, he set out to find a building to house the world’s newest IT repair company. Finally, after months of searching, he found the right building. Nestled between a sub and pizza shop on one side, and a liquor store on the other side, he knew he found it. Thus, on June 17, 2005, at the young age of 20, Rick opened the doors of Computer Connection.

From that first day, Rick has given it his all. He has spent countless hours at the office working on computers—sometimes spending the night at the office and leaving in the morning only to shower and change clothes and then leaving to go fix another computer. His philosophy of ‘every customer is important and needs to have a working computer’ gave him the strength to carry on when there seemed to not be a way. As a result, he was able to hire a part time technician who has since left the company. That following January, 2006, Rick hired a volunteer who quickly became his shadow and went with him on every service call. A few months later, Rick hired his second paid employee. When he left, Rick hired another volunteer from the local Career Center who eventually became a Sub Contractor. Following this, he hired two other people to help him.

The fall/winter of 2008 proved to be a very challenging season in the life of Computer Connection. Business had picked up to the point that Rick was no longer able to keep up with the in store and on site work, but slow enough that he couldn’t afford to hire someone full time. As a result, on September 1, 2008, Rick hired his fifth paid employee, Brandon Hall—a role he still currently holds. He brought his close friend and long time shadow, Walter Dyal, on board to help structure, run, and manage the company. What Rick was not able to handle, Walter would.

January 2009 would mark a very pivotal moment in the life of Computer Connection. With everyone coming on board in different capacities, and the IT world booming, Rick and Walter knew that something had to be done. Therefore, they adopted a new name for the business, calling themselves “Computer Connection, 2.0” after revamping, restructuring, and re-launching the whole company as the same platform, vision, dreams, but with a different approach.

Today, Computer Connection is poised on the brink of being the world’s IT company. With the right people in the right place, Computer Connection is embracing the 2.0 by becoming the IT repair company not seen, not heard of, nor ever imagined before.
